Who is Spencer Elden?
Spencer Elden is actually the child who is depicted on the cover of the 1991 Nevermind album.
He was four months old when he was photographed for the plate, as his father was a friend of the photographer.
Years after the album cover, it is not known what Elden is doing for the profession.
Nevermind is one of the best-selling albums of all time, with over 30 million copies sold worldwide.
Why is Spencer suing Nirvana?
Spencer accused the group of “sexual exploitation” in a $ 150,000 lawsuit.
He is suing the band’s surviving members as well as Kurt Cobain’s estate, claiming that he could not agree to be featured on the 1991 album cover.
On the famous album cover, he is depicted as a baby swimming naked in a pool.

According to court documents obtained by the publication, Spencer claims that he could not – at 4 months old – agree to be in the photo, and his legal guardians did not agree either.
He claims the band promised that his genitals would be covered with a sticker on the album cover, but that never happened.
The lawsuit alleges that appearing nude in infancy on the cover caused Spencer “life-long damage.”
Spencer is reportedly seeking damages, attorney fees, an injunction prohibiting all parties from “continuing to participate in the illegal acts and practices described here,” and a jury.
Representatives from Nirvana and Universal Music Group have not yet commented on the case.
What did Spencer say about the album cover?
As an adult, Spencer Elden recreated this look in 2016 and even got a tattoo with the word Nevermind on his chest.
But he seems to have changed his mind about the album in recent years.
In a 2016 interview. GQ AustraliaElden said he was “offended” by the album cover.
“Recently I thought, ‘What if it’s not okay to show everyone my fucking penis? “I really didn’t have a choice,” he said.
He told the publication that he came to this realization after trying to contact the group and the photographer who took the photo.
“Just a few months ago when I contacted Nirvana to see if they would like to participate in my art show. I was recommended to their managers and their lawyers, ”he explained.

What was the outcome of Spencer Elden’s lawsuit against Nirvana?
In August 2021, Spencer Elden filed a child pornography lawsuit against Nirvana in Los Angeles Federal Court.
According to USA TodayElden’s lawsuit was dismissed on January 3, 2022.
In court documents obtained by USA Today, it is specified that he must file an objection to the dismissal of the claim by December 30, but he did not.
The documents also mention that the judge in the case provided Elden and his legal team with amendments to his complaint by January 13, 2022, before the case is finally closed.
Marsh Law Firm, representing Spencer Elden, told the publication, “We will be filing a second amended complaint very soon in accordance with the court order.”
