YOUTUBER, Trisha Paytas is known for her controversial content on her video blog TrishasLife.
The 34-year-old once hosted the Frenemies podcast with Ethan Klein, but announced their departure in June 2021.
Why did Trisha Paytas leave the Frenemies podcast?
In 2020, Trisha Paytas resurfaced online after they teamed up with Ethan Klein to host the YouTube Frenemies podcast.
The two addressed social issues on the show and encouraged other online creators to engage in problem behavior.
June 8, 2021 episode from Frenemies, Paytas and Klein fell out over the work they put into the podcast.
Paytas claimed that they offer many ideas for podcast and vlog episodes that don’t air.
The YouTuber also stated that Klein is “recycling” content from his other podcast, The H3 Podcast.
Klein’s production company, h3h3 Productions, produces Frenemies, The H3 Podcast and H3 After Dark.
Paytas also expressed disappointment that they do not have a say in crew recruitment.
What did Paytas say about their departure to YouTube?
On the same day that their heated argument took place, Paytas uploaded a video to his YouTube channel titled “Abandoning Frenemies”, which has since been taken down.
“I had this feeling in my heart that I need to move away from Frenemies and it’s really with a heavy heart that I say that,” Paytas said in the video.
“That was my stability, my usual once-a-week thing that I look forward to. I really enjoy doing shows.”
Paytas then said that they had read the comments on the latest episode of Frenemies, in which viewers were expressing frustration with Paytas.
They also claimed that Klein claimed that the film crew was also upset with the Paytas and didn’t want to film a pre-planned vlog episode with them.
“What got me excited was that I was talking about gay rights and hate crimes against gays and transgender people and I really wanted to talk about it and he was talking about me,” Paytas said.
During the episode, Klein and Paytas then moved on to another segment purportedly introduced by a new producer hired by Klein.
“I came up with so many ideas for this show,” Patas said.
“I really feel like I built this show with them, 50/50.”
“I don’t feel comfortable stepping into something that Ethan built… If I’d known I’d be coming in as H3’s third show, I swear, God forbid, I wouldn’t.”
Paytas went on to say that they hope Klein will continue Frenemies with another co-host, but that doesn’t work for them anymore.
The 34-year-old has since moved on to other platforms such as OnlyFans and has been posting videos on YouTube very frequently of her pregnancy journey with husband Moses Hackmon.
What did Ethan Klein say about Patas’ decision to retire?
On June 8, almost immediately after the Paytas video announcing their departure, Klein took to Twitter to respond to their comments.
Klein claimed he didn’t know they were leaving the show until he saw the video earlier in the day.
“Honestly, I’m gutted by all of this,” Klein said. wrote.
“Trisha’s video this morning took me completely by surprise. I really don’t know what else I can say or do.
“I’m so sorry to all the Frenemies fans, I know how much this meant to everyone, I did everything I could to save him.”
Klein also confirmed that their June episode would be the “last” episode of Frenemies, ending the podcast series.
