You can probably guess how ‘Succession’ Brian Cox feels about Showtime’s billions

Speaking with London TimesBrian Cox turned Logan Roy and delivered a not-so-subtle verbal slap at Showtime’s Billions by declaring that Legacies would never jump the shark like its financial series counterpart in his eyes.

“We don’t want it to be delayed like Billions,” Cox exploded. β€œThe expiration date has expired. That won’t happen with our show.” The Times also asked Cox if he thinks “Legacy” could go on much longer after season 4 when he unearthed “Billions”. “I dont know [if there will be a fifth season]Cox said. Nobody renewed their contracts. Who knows how long this will go on?”

While some people were quick to criticize Cox online for suggesting yet another vicious Hollywood hit, many were actually in his corner regarding Billions’ sentiment. Entertainment Weekly Randall Colburn tweeted: “As a former Billions fan, I can say that no show deserves to be ridiculed more than Billions. Brian Cox is great because he had no reason to say this to get his point across. please!” User @Ric3Fantasyfan wrote“Totally agree…it was ridiculous for the Billions to continue after Damian Lewis left…shows need to be aware of when they have to end, not nullify everything.”

In February 2022, Showtime officially renewed Billions for a 7th season, which will be the second season following Lewis’ departure. Actors Paul Giamatti, Corey Stoll and Maggie Siff remained. Meanwhile, Legacy is currently filming its 4th season.
