Los Angeles-based distribution company Myriad Pictures has acquired international rights to Zatopek, contender for the award “Oscar 2021” from the Czech Republic. The film was also sold in the US to Gravitas Ventures.
The deal was negotiated between John McGrath of UTA on behalf of the producers and Scott Bedno, SVP of Sales and Acquisitions for Myriad Pictures.
Zatopek tells the story of four-time Olympic champion Emil Zatopek. This is the seventh film by the prolific Czech director David Ondricek.
Starring Vaclav Neuzhil (dubing street), Marta Issova (Dukla 61) and Australian James Freshville (The Dry, Animal Kingdom, Adore, Peaky Blinders, Black’ 47). Zatopek dominated the Czech film awards with eight wins, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Cinematography and Best Editing.
